American Association of Clinical Urologists Join Stakeholder Letter Calling for Reform the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule and Establish a New Site-of-Service for Office-Based Interventional Care

AACU is latest organization to add their name

Washington, DC — Today, the Office-Based Facility Association (OBFA) announced that the American Association of Clinical Urologists (AACU) signed on to the letter sent to the Democratic and Republican leadership in both the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate calling for the creation of a new site-of-service for office-based interventional care.

The OBFA-led stakeholder letter continues to receive new support from a broad coalition of medical societies, medical device companies, and front-line healthcare experts. Click here to see the text of the letter.

The following organizations have signed the letter:

  • American Association of Clinical Urologists

  • American College of Radiation Oncology

  • American Vein & Lymphatic Society

  • American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology

  • American Society of Nephrology

  • Outpatient Endovascular and Interventional Society

  • Renal Physicians Association

  • Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions

  • Society of Interventional Radiology

The letter says, in part, “For at least 300 office-based interventional and related services in the Medicare PFS, according to Medicare’s own data, Medicare reimbursement no longer covers the costs of providing such services. In order to address this problem and help advance fundamental PFS reform, Congress should establish a new site-of-service for office-based interventions utilizing high-cost supplies.”
