USPA Thanks Congressman Davis For Leadership On Combating CMS Cuts

United Specialists for Patient Access joins Davis and
the medical community in opposing drastic CMS cuts

WASHINGTON, DC Today, the United Specialists for Patient Access (USPA) issued the following statement in support of Rep. Danny K. Davis’ (IL-7) efforts to reverse CMS cuts that undermine quality healthcare and disproportionately impact patients in communities of color.

Dr. Mark Garcia, USPA Board Member and Health Policy Advisor:

“USPA is grateful to have Congressman Davis shine a spotlight on this critical issue that impacts patients and health providers across the country. These cuts proposed by CMS will strike communities of color the hardest and will cement a downward spiral in the quality of care for patients.

“If these cuts are not restored, the real-world result will be reduced healthcare choice for all patients and even less for minority communities. Many specialists who serve minority populations will have no choice but to close their doors due to inadequate federal reimbursement and instability.

“Congress must act to protect patients by working on fundamental reforms to the Physician Fee Schedule. Our coalition stands with Rep. Danny Davis and his efforts to restore these CMS cuts.”
